In Search for the Lonesome Yodel
In this entertaining documentary, NZ comedians the Topp Twins go on the road in a mission to share their love of the yodel, and cement its place in contemporary music.
As they travel through New Zealand and Australia, they meet yodeling legends Frank Ifield, Mary Schneider, and opera singer Malvina Major, and visit their hometown to teach school kids the art of the yodel.
Along the way, famous kiwis like Lucy Lawless and NZ Prime Minister at the time, Helen Clark, also have a try. When the twins visit the ultimate yodeller's paradise at the Gympie Music Muster in Queensland, they connect with fellow yodelers and reflect on where their performance careers first began.
