  • The New Zealand Film Commission

Diva has been very grateful for the support of the NZFC. The Topp Twins documentary was largely funded by the NZFC, who backed our vision from the first. The government agency was established in 1978 “to encourage, participate and assist in the making, promotion, distribution and exhibition of films” made in New Zealand by New Zealanders on New Zealand subjects.

The NZFC provides loans and equity financing to New Zealand film-makers to assist in the development and production of feature films and short films being made in New Zealand. It does not itself produce films. The NZFC is also active in the sales and marketing of New Zealand films, and it assists with training and professional development within the industry.
